For this week, we had to write at least three paragraphs about nature.  Nature is a very important aspect in life.  It helps many, including me, to set their mind at ease.  It could also be a stress reliever.  In nature, I especially love plants and animals.  Nature is crucial in being able to survive in many ways.

I love animals, and find great joy in them.  My favorite animal is a lion, they are beautiful, and loyal.  Lions can be violent at times, but only for survival.  They are also very loving and protective toward their. pack, this is also how they are loyal.  Lionesses hunt down their prey so the lion and their cubs can eat.  I not only love lions, but most other animals as well.

Another one of my favorite aspects of nature are plants.  Plants are not only nice to look at, but they are also refreshing and relaxing.  My favorite plants are flowers and trees.  My favorite type of flower is a rose or chrysanthemum.  I don’t have a favorite type of tree, but I love maple tree and oak trees  Trees and other plants are very beneficial in living.  They give off oxygen to help us breath.  If we didn’t have these plants, we would not be able to survive.

For week eight, I visited three different blogs from all around the world.

The top three most popular foods in America are hamburgers, hot dogs, and pizza.  Us Americans will eat anything greasy, and fattening that we can get our hands on, and these foods are the definition of that.  A nice juicy hamburger, with some fries on the side is just the thing we need to fill our stomachs after a long day.  A hot dog is the perfect food for any type of sports game (mainly baseball).  Pizza is what we go to when we are in the mood for a movie along with something greasy and cheesy.  Here is the link I used, http://islandgrownschools.weebly.com/uploads/1/0/7/8/10785576/top_ten_foods_consumed_in_america.pdf.

At my school, we have pick up sticks, fresh brothers, chicken sandwiches, chips, milk, slushy’s, and many other drinks. My favorite drink is the blue or red slushy, they’re delicious. Also, I love the chicken sandwiches and the pick up sticks.

One of my favorite times with my family was a couple of years ago over winter break.  I went to New York to visit my family for Christmas.  While I was there, we did so many fun things such as walk around the streets of the city, we saw the Rockettes perform, and just spending time with family, doing nothing was great.  It was freezing and snowy outside.  Even though it was so cold, we made the best of it.  We sculpted igloos and snowmen with our cousins, and had a great time.  I love spending time with my family, and I always will.

This is my great grandpa, about six years ago he passed away.  He was so sweet and thoughtful.  He fought in World War II, in the Navy.  He is very missed and loved.

I asked my mom to tell me about what her parents, my grandparents, were like when she was growing up.  This is what she said, “When I was growing up, my parents were very strict, and we were taught to respect our elders, and to have manners.  My mom made all of my clothes and taught me how to sew.  Even though she was very strict, she was loving and showed me how to behave.  My dad worked very hard, and we bonded over hunting together.  My parents were very conservative and strict, but they taught me how to be kind, respectful, and loyal.  Those are character traits that I think are very important in a person, and I am very grateful that they gave me that experience.”

For this activity, we had to create a widget.  The widget I chose to create was “most popular(beta)”.  I chose this one because I would like to know my most popular posts and see what the people like more of.  This will help me get a better understanding of what everyone wants to see, and it will help me improve.

I have learned many things about adding a picture to a blog.  Pictures help people to understand what is going on, and it helps them paint a better picture of whatever the story may be.  I have learned that pictures personalize the blog and they make the reader feel more connected to you.
